Itinerary

Before dawn lights up the sky, you must wake up and take an early flight from Cairo to Luxor. A representative will come to your hotel and drive you to Cairo Airport so you can catch your flight to Luxor. As you arrive in Luxor, you will receive a greeting from one of our expert Egyptologist tour guides, who will take you for sightseeing in Luxor as follows:

Karnak Temple Complex

The magnificent Karnak Temple Complex, one of Egypt's biggest religious sites, is where you start your Cairo cultural tour. Search through the vast expanse of this ancient temple, towering columns, walls separating the sacred lake, and other carved images and sculptures that open up a world of gods and pharaohs. Before heading to the next destination, let the taste buds enjoy lunch at a restaurant near the local area.

Luxor Temple

Before sunset, visit and enjoy this temple site, visiting the Luxor Temple, an architectural masterpiece dedicated to the god Amun. This great temple houses gigantic towers and vast courtyards with splendid statues. While guiding you through the temple, your guide will tell you about Luxor's essential part of worship in the ancient world and share a view of some fascinating features of the Luxor.

After your yummy breakfast, an expert Egyptologist tour guide will rendezvous with you in the hotel lobby and explore some other sights of Luxor on the West Bank.

Valley of the Kings

First on your agenda is the Valley of the Kings. This area is considered the most sacred burial ground of pharaohs, as it contains some of the most renowned tombs of pharaohs of Egypt, including that of King Tutankhamun. Right after entering those tombs, your luck should allow you to behold the well-preserved colorful wall paintings and even more beautiful hieroglyphics that survived for thousands of years—here you can see the viewpoints of the ancient Egyptians regarding the afterlife.

Hatshepsut Temple

The Temple of Hatshepsut is one of the finest architectural wonders in all of Egypt. Located on the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, Hatshepsut Temple honors one of Egypt's most influential female pharaohs. Steeped and surrounded by high cliffs, this temple is an absolute wonder and has always testified to the power and legacy of Hatshepsut.

Optional tour: Luxor Hot Air Balloon Ride

Now you have the optional opportunity to fly over the ancient wonders of Luxor, high above those temples, at dawn, to see a breathtaking panorama of the Valley of the Kings and the Nile River below. It is the best-unforgettable way of seeing Luxor's stunning beauty from above. For your flight back to Cairo in the evening, our tour guide meets you at the opulent Luxor Airport entrance. On reaching Cairo, our representative will be waiting there to assist and take you to your hotel in Cairo.

To ensure a smooth and comfortable journey throughout Egypt, we suggest you pack the following items:

  • Valid Passport (at least 6 months): Double-check that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned arrival date in Egypt, as this is often a requirement for entry.
  • Sun Protection: Given Egypt’s sunny climate, we recommend packing high-SPF sunscreen and lip balm with sun protection to shield your skin from the intense sun.
  • UV-Blocking Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from UV rays and reduce glare while sightseeing, especially when exploring outdoor sites like the Pyramids.
  • Hand Sanitizer: Hygiene is important, particularly when handwashing isn’t always accessible, so be sure to bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
  • Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key, particularly in the heat. A refillable water bottle will help you stay refreshed while reducing plastic waste.
  • Insect Repellent: Particularly useful when visiting sites surrounded by nature, insect repellent will keep pesky bugs at bay and protect you from bites.
  • Appropriate Clothing for the Season:
    • Winter: If traveling during the cooler months, pack a warm jacket, sweater, and thermal layers.
    • Summer: Lightweight, breathable cotton clothes are ideal for staying cool in the hot weather.
  • Wide-Brimmed Hat: A hat provides shade and helps protect your face and neck from direct sun exposure.
  • Travel Adapter: Different countries have varying plug types, so bring a universal travel adapter to keep your electronics charged.
  • Camera or Smartphone: Capture stunning memories from your trip with a camera or your phone. Egypt’s ancient sites are perfect for photos!
  • Compact Umbrella: Though Egypt is mostly dry, a small umbrella can be handy during the rare rain showers, especially if you're traveling during the transitional months.
  • Comfortable Shoes: You’ll likely be doing a lot of walking during your sightseeing, so pack sturdy and comfortable shoes suitable for exploring archaeological sites and urban areas.
  • Medications: If you take prescription medication, ensure you have an adequate supply for the duration of your trip. Also, carry any over-the-counter medications you may need for common issues like headaches or stomach discomfort.
