What are the best places to go in Jordan?

Jordan has a lot to offer and include some of the very famous places like Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, Amman, and Jerash with Roman ruins. For the fullest cultural and historical experience look at once Mount Nebo and the mosaic city of Madaba.

Mild and nice weather during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) makes these seasons the best for visiting Jordan and enjoying sightseeing, hiking, and desert adventures.

A visit to Jordan’s highlights can be done in 7-10 days — from north Amman and Jerash to south Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. 4-5 day trips can also include the most significant sites.

It is an affirmative answer, Jordan is regarded as the safest country in the Middle East. The local population is accommodating and hospitable, plus the tourism infrastructure is quite developed. Visitors just have to take standard safety measures as they would in any other place.

Jordan is a mix of everything: history, adventure, and relaxation — see the archaeological marvels, have the experience of floating in the Dead Sea, and get close to nature by camping in Wadi Rum, visit the local markets in Amman, and hike in nature reserves like Dana and Mujib.

Visa on arrival is allowed for most travelers at Queen Alia International Airport or land borders. The other alternative is the Jordan Pass, which is an easy way to subsidize visa fees and gain access to numerous attractions.

With the Jordan Pass, you get free access to over 40 attractions, one of them being the Wadi Rum area and another one is Petra, plus a visa waiver effective after a stay of at least 3 nights. It is strongly recommended for people who are planning to visit a lot of places.

Jordanian menu is rich and varied. The special dishes are Mansaf (the national dish), falafel, hummus, maqluba, and Arabic bread just out of the oven. Food is the essence of the Jordanian hospitality, so come starving!

Light, comfortable clothes, good walking shoes, a hat or sunscreen for the desert are essential items in your packing list. If you visit during cool months take a jacket or a sweater for the cold nights, particularly in Petra or Wadi Rum. When it comes to religious sites modest dressing is a sign of respect.

The Jordan Pass includes entry to over 40 attractions, including Petra and Wadi Rum, plus a visa waiver if you stay at least 3 nights. It’s highly recommended for anyone planning to explore multiple sites.
