December delivers the dry, sunny days Upper Egypt is famous for. Expect warm, comfortable afternoons for sightseeing and genuinely cold nights — the desert loses its heat fast after sunset, so evenings on the cruise deck and pre-dawn starts for the balloon or Abu Simbel call for a proper jacket.
