Madaba - The City of Mosaic

Madaba is a small town situated in the central part of Jordan, just 33 km south of the capital

Amman. It was a crucial early Christian stop on the pilgrim’s journey from Jerusalem to Mount Nebo through the Jordan River. This town is a present to us among the many churches that are adorned with mosaics; thus, its name came from "the City of the Mosaic". It is now a place of residence for both Christians and Muslims, being a shining example of religious tolerance between the two faiths in Jordan. Besides that, it has become famous for housing the "Madaba Map" at St. George Churches, which were consecrated in the 6th century and depicted the areas of Jerusalem and the Holy Mount Nebo: A Historical and Spiritual Landmark

Mount Nebo, located 46 km west of Amman and at an elevation of 838 meters, is a place of major historical and religious significance. The biblical narrative places it as the site where God commanded Moses to go up to see the Promised Land before his death. The most incredible and beautiful views of the Holy City of Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley are brought to the eye from the summit of the Mount, thus giving one a great feeling of being surrounded by history and spirituality, besides the fact that the Mount is famous for its dazzling Byzantine mosaics, which are a clear indication of the era's artistic brilliance. The site is around 47 km from Amman and only 10 km from Madaba, and it is the traditional site where Moses is believed to have died after seeing the Promised Land.

Dead Sea - The Lowest Spot on Earth

One of the most exciting experiences in Jordan can be found at the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea, which is more than 400 meters below sea level, is known for the incredible density of its water, which is ten times higher than that of any other sea, thus providing a unique and unforgettable floating experience. Besides, the black mud, which is rich in minerals, is a good miracle for skin softening and body rejuvenation. The Dead Sea has had a great historical and spiritual significance in the world. The Earth's lowest elevation on dry land is at the surface and shores of the Dead Sea, which is 430.5 meters below sea level. This natural wonder, only 60 km away from Amman, has spa benefits like peculiar sun radiation, enriched oxygen atmosphere, mineral-rich sea salt, thermo-mineral springs, and therapeutic mud. These factors together grant effective medical treatments and allure tourists from different corners of the world. The visitors can participate in sunbathing, swimming, and dining while feeling the weirdness of floating on water without doing anything, due to the high buoyancy resulting from the salt content, which is nine times higher than that of normal seawater.

The Red Rose City

The majestic red mountains and vast mausoleums of Petra stand as a testament to a bygone civilization, demanding nothing from modern society but appreciation for their true value as one of the greatest wonders crafted by Nature and Man. Despite extensive documentation, nothing can truly prepare you for the awe-inspiring experience of visiting Petra—it must be seen to be believed Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is undoubtedly Jordan's most valuable treasure and premier tourist attraction. This extraordinary city, carved into the sheer rock face by the industrious Nabataeans over 2,000 years ago, served as a crucial junction for the silk, spice, and other trade routes connecting China, India, and southern Arabia with Egypt, Syria, Greece, and Rome. Visitors to Petra will explore the unique 'Rose-Red' city, where the Nabataeans sculpted monumental tombs, palaces, temples, and the iconic Treasury from the natural rose and gold-hued sandstone. The journey begins on foot, covering 700 meters to the entrance of the impressive narrow gorge known as the Siq. This path leads to the breathtaking moment when the Treasury comes into view. From there, visitors can continue to the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Cardo, and various temples, churches, and museums.

Amman: A City of Contrasts

Amman, the capital and the largest city of Jordan, is a wonderful mixture of ancient and modern styles of architecture. Built on seven hills originally, the city not only provides splendid views from its high locations, but also the Citadel, which is the highest hill, is one of them. Amman is a city of contrasts due to its unique location between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley. Your tour starts at the city centre, the most ancient part of Amman, where the Citadel gives you a lovely panoramic view of the whole city. You will also see ruins of ancient structures, one being the Temple of Hercules, which dates back to 161-120 AD, a Byzantine church, the Umayyad Palace, and the amazing Archaeological Museum with its impressive collection of Jordan's antiquities. At the bottom of the Citadel is the Roman Theatre, built in the 2nd century, which is still used for cultural events. Your last stop will be Abdoun, a modern zone with its beautiful architecture.
